STEVENSON COMPETITIVE CHEER

Excellence and Attitude

To get the most out of competitive season, we need to recognize what competition looks and feels like when it’s working well. We should be able to spot the signs that it’s degenerating, and take steps to frame the contest for ourselves in the most positive light.

Attitude and perception shift quite quickly, and quite commonly determine the overall outcome of a season. We expect each athlete to compete with a ready to work and okay with falling short attitude.

Overview

MHSAA Competitive Cheerleading is structured and judged on a three round format. Though it is a shorter season than sideline, it is fast paced, and requires full commitment and the drive to be Successful. It is an intense season, a season where all the hard work from sideline shines at it's best! It takes an exceptional athlete that has a true competitive outlook on life to thrive in this season. Competitive tryouts will take place in November of each year, with our first competition starting Mid-December and we continue to compete through Mid-Late February. The girls will be challenged by competing as a team against local and regional schools during both the week and weekends.

Program Goal

The goal and expectation of every athlete is to compete at their most elite level. To achieve this goal we must step outside our comfort zone and putting in the necessary time outside of practice to prefect the skills.
